4th - 8th grade Advent Service Project

Holy Trinity YFF & HTCS Young Vinnies Service Project

Fourth through eight graders will prep, serve, and clean up a meal for the homeless at the Cathedral in Belleville on Saturdays in December. (As an incentive, all children who choose to participate and show "Faith in Action" will not have to come to class on Sunday, December 20th!) You will work a shift from 7:30am - 10:00am. We are limited on the number of people we can have at the facility at a time, so parents you may drop off your children. A Holy Trinity Catechist or Tanya will be there to supervise the children each Saturday.

November Activities for Catholic Families

10 great things for you and your family to do to put your Faith in Action for November

October 25, 2015

Food Pantry Project

Our children grades kindergarten through eighth in the parish and the Young Vinnies at HTCS are learning to put their “Faith In Action” by putting into practice Jesus’ words to feed the hungry. Each month a grade will create a recipe to make a meal from food pantry items. We’ll then present our “meal” and the items needed for this meal to everyone in the parish by speaking at various Masses and posting information in the bulletin and website. We need help from you, our community, to donate the needed items! We will collect the food items throughout that month and then deliver the food to the Fairview Heights Food Pantry. Look for a special collection box, made by our amazing Head of Maintenance, Mark Hamilton, in the gathering space of our church to drop off your food donations. Thank you for prayers and support!

YFF News--Reconciliation

Our class time together has been so much fun! We are memorizing Psalm 23 and the 10 Commandments through music. Our musical setting for Psalm 23 was written by Gary Daigle and is a call-response psalm that we will be praying and singing for all the evening we receive our Sacrament of Reconciliation! As St. Augustine said, “Singing is praying twice!”

YFF News--Rosary

"October is the Month of the Rosary. In addition to our grade appropriate content learning, we will learn everything we can possibly squeeze into our “schema” about the rosary during our two classes in October. Younger grades will focus on mastering the basic prayers of the rosary (Hail Mary, Our Father, Glory Be) along with an introduction to praying the rosary, while older grades may focus on the additional prayers of the rosary (The Apostles Creed, Prayer of Fatima, and Hail Holy Queen) and learn the Mysteries of the Rosary...

YFF News

Parents! We are learning how VITAL it is to know and understand the Bible! Your children will be using Bibles in class every time we meet. By the time they complete their First Communion in the spring, they will have compiled a whole list of memorized scripture! We will focus on scripture that reinforces our learning points throughout the Sacramental Preparation process.
